ahhh ha!

well it is official! i am in providence!

on sunday with help from my brother and his fiance i drove down w/ my car packed and my bed on my brothers truck. all the way from vermont and like usual it was a quiet ride sans music! i am not 100% settled but i am getting into it and i've already been walking a lot with sara and am pretty psyched to get back into that.

i am still waiting to hear back from a couple companies and will start at the Hope Club next week. it isn't the best situation but i think it will do for now.

the apt is cool, a big old house with a few people living in it, everybody's in and out. definitely going to be easy to get along with everyone!

that's it for now, getting back to my daily job-hunt grind!

frustrated

i have to get something off of my chest. i've heard it in the news almost every day and have seen people talking about it on some rather liberal sites. people are already turning on Obama, and these sites were PrObama before he was elected and then ecstatic once he was (so was i).

i don't like to get too political because i don't follow enough and i'd rather have my readers assume i am stupid than open my mouth and prove it. all of this talk about Obamas failing presidency is really annoying and all a bit premature. he's been in office for LESS than 1 year! it takes time to make changes especially the radical ones that are necessary to help our country. don't forget he has to deal with stubborn politicians with their own agendas rather than the nations.

people are also complaining about his broken campaign promises. to be completely honest you cannot expect much else, after all that's what politicians do. they've been lying and deceiving before the time of caesar, if you believe everything politicians say you are sad and naive and i pity you. i am not advocating lying but take everything that you hear with a grain of salt and go on with your day.

with that being said, i remain hopeful it will get better. i am not so quick to judge and i hope you aren't either, i am merely defending my choice of president.

i found a place; east side college hill. i am moving sometime the week after thanksgiving. i am definitely happy, anxious, excited, and nervous!

hi everyone!

recently i visited providence for some fun and much needed QT with sara. the trip was great overall. the only bad parts were driving! as most of you know, i currently am not able to listen to music in my car. my stereo passed away sometime early summer and i had one iPod die of old age and the other was brutally murdered by iTunes 9. iTunes hasn't accepted fault and it will take years before this goes to trial, so there will be no justice anytime soon. my phone-calling, candy munching, coffee drinking 3 1/2 hour commutes to and from providence have been filled with a lot of inner dialogue (or is it monologue?).

i ask myself stupid questions, think about life, and on more than one occasion ask rhetorically what drove that person to speed past just to pull right in front of me and slow down. but i digress, the latest thing i was contemplating was something very exciting. i NEED to move. as much as i love vermont i have been here too long and am stagnant, nothing is changing it's the same old routine day-in, day-out. so i decided to force myself into a situation. i gave my 2 weeks notice at work and decided that after thanksgiving i will be moving to providence to be close to sara, find a job, and get my life started...again.

i am incredibly excited for this next chapter in my life to start. it really isn't ideal because i am not moving with a position secured but i feel it is necessary and i am very sick of hearing myself talking without taking action.

i will miss vermont, but the beauty of providence is that it's only a 3 1/2hour coffee-drinking, candy-munching, music-free drive home. if you know anybody with a room to rent let me know!

i will be keeping everyone updated with what goes down in the next 2-3 weeks, hopefully a lot of good stuff!

feeling a little better

this morning wasn't too bad. slept-in and felt a little better when i woke up. had a nice breakfast and lots of tea and planned on starting a project. it's a good idea and a way to keep my mind off certain things. i want to make a coffee table out of these produce crates we have where i work. i tried buying them but apparently the store needs them (they aren't being used). i went to the place where the store gets them and they are not selling them either. now i am a bit bummed, i guess my idea will never come to reality or i will have to wait.

i have to come up with another project to keep my mind off other things. i wonder what i will do.

that's not frost!

i woke up this morning and was pretty shocked to see this! i am used to seeing some snow on the mountain once in a while around here and this year we've already seen snow twice up there. but snow at the house is pretty rare this early. so it's pretty cool, maybe a precursor to a great season ahead?

i was already pretty psyched about snowboarding, but now seeing snow it's just multiplied that hunger for some turns so much more!

death of an iPod

i got some good new music recently. Where the Wild Things Are Soundtrack by Karen O and The Kids, got some remixes by Classixx, the new Phoenix album all-in-all some good music. I wanted to add them to my iPod b/c as most of you know, my car stereo is dead. I am driving down to Providence tonight and i need some music.

Attempting time and time again to add music to my iPod i continuously fail. after attempting to restore it, restart it, restart iTunes, my computer...everything. I get notices saying that my iPod is now more corrupt than the rabbis in Hoboken. i check out the Apple site and look at some forums, turns out i am not the only one with this problem. apparently iTunes 9 effs with your iPod classic (and some other models). basically iTunes 9 is an iPod killer.

i am not too happy about this, i recently had an iPod die so i bought another one and sure enough this one died. and considering my car stereo doesn't work, the drive to providence tonight will be a LOONG ONE!

hopefully something good will happen where i can take my mind off of the little things that AREN'T working in my life!

sara came up this weekend. and like ALWAYS it was WAY TOO SHORT. however i loved every second of it and can't wait to see her in less than 2 weeks!

in other news, i ordered some KRINK squeeze markers. i have some ideas i want to try and get out onto canvas and other mediums, pretty excited! stay alert for updates and images of my work.

i will be in boston wednesday night-friday staying with my brother and his finacee (fee-on-SAAAAAY). i'll be hanging out in the north end for a day or so, say hi!

i was biking yesterday and took quite a spill. ended up separating my AC joint in my left shoulder. ill be out for about 2 weeks which is a big bummer!

b/c of my injury i will be painting more, which is what i'm doing now, ill share my work when it's done!

i have a week of recovery, work, and hopeuflly Sara will be visiting this coming weekend which would be so great! i'll let everyone know how my recovery is going!

this last week was AMAZING! i was able to see my beautiful girlfriend, we were in the city, went to see PASSION PIT on the Jimmy Fallon Show, i biked my first concrete park, and some new dirt jumps that were awesome. oh, and i was on TV. i danced my hat and gloves off for Jimmy Fallon (attempted to)

i am in VT now, boston tomorrow night and an interview on Tuesday, wish me luck!

it's beautiful outside, i have the day off, i am getting errands done and other such necessities, will have time to enjoy the weather tubing and biking, and am cooking tonight.

the day the music died

recently my iPod wasn't working properly. it was moving, showing music playing, but no sound on any device (headphones, speakers and car radio tuner). so i took it to a certified apple retailer that does refurbishing and retail etc. etc.

"sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it's dead. you can spend money to get it fixed, but it would be more than 1/2 the cost of a new iPod. and even then you won't get it back until the fall. basically, no summer tunes bro"
this guy broke my heart.

to make it all worse, less than a week ago, my stereo in my car went. nothing works and it stole my Mos Def CD. so now i'm living without music and i must say, it is difficult and very saddening.

to cope, i have been singing in my car, humming, pondering, and listening to my ringtones on playback.

this is depressing!

i miss making a mix! made one today and i'm uber pumped about it! it will be my summer playlist for sure!

i also need to make a bit of a correction. on my previous post i agreed with Jay-Z and said autotune should be gone. i am being contradictory because i do listen to a lot of music that uses that autotune. what i am saying and what i get from Jay-Z's statement is... get rid of T-PAIN hooks and making ENTIRE albums saturated in autotune.

i've been painting a lot more lately. i will try to take some good pictures and post them. they are nothing exciting, but it's good to get back into it. i have some ideas that i want get out, in-time i will. the problem is i can't get my hands to make the paint look how i envision everything.

i will get better as time goes, hopefully i can use this to exhibit my works.

oh mannn this was a tiring weekend. i was able to see my gf which was great but there's never enough time spent with her. and as always it was hard leaving.

i couldn't get tickets to see Passion Pit either, my connection wasn't able to pull his strings. big bummer but in the end it turned out fine b/c then i would have had to drive from NYC to VT by 12 b/c i was working Sunday. never fun!

weekend

this weekend is going to be a bit hectic! going down to CT friday evening to see the gf for the night, early Sat morning driving to NJ to move out and bid that place adeu! then BACK to CT to meet up with the gf. if we are lucky we will have tickets to see PASSION PIT back in NYC. which means back into the city.

on sunday morning have to leave CT (maybe NYC) and drive back home to VT by noon to work a shift. there will be lots of driving, but i can dig it.

so my brother showed me an artist a while back and since then i've seen his name everywhere. if you're in NYC you've seen his work in SOHO when he was commissioned to paint on some buildings a few months ago.

anyway, the artist i am talking about is Banksy. he's got an exhibit coming up in his hometown of Bristol at the Bristol Museum. here's a video my brother sent me via HighSnobiety. it's a sneakpeak of the show.

in the fall of '08 Ken Block came out with a video of him driving a tuned WRX STi pushing over 500HP showing off crazy driving skills. there was so much buzz around it they had to come back and film a 2nd. they didnt know how to top it, but they did.

recently they released the 2nd video with his brand new "Gymkhana" Subaru WRX STi. the video is crazy! the driving is madness. i wish it showcased more of the driving instead of some of the antics, but it's still insane. here are both videos feel free to watch over and over again to try and understand how he can do this!

it's been a while

sorry friends it has been a while since i have blogged!

i have been busy since moving back to VT. i have been busy with some odd-jobs for friends and it has been taking up all of my time. the weather got nice and was able to hit up the dirt jumps in Stowe and in Johnson, both are riding smoooth!

this past weekend was amazing, so much happened! i had an AMAZING time with my girlfriend, went fishing in the bay, my brother caught dinner (it was delicious). played with my dogs. i gashed my knee wide open, almost had to get stitches. and my brother proposed to his girlfriend Maggie and they are going to be getting married.

in addition, i know what my next move is, well i know where. my girlfriend and I will be looking to move to Boston SOON! my step is to get a job there while she has opportunities to advance within her company or switch to another in Boston.

A lot happened this weekend and it was great! back to real life unfortunately, but now i have a mission!

my amazing girlfriend's birthday is May 17th and we will be celebrating in NYC.

it was a hard decision to step up and move back. but NJ/NYC didn't treat me as well as i would have liked. i am back to regroup and figure out my next step. right now my plan is to find a job here to save save save. soon i will be back in the city and it will be great.

i recently found about this new social site application called GLUE basically tracks your online activity when you go to certain sites and links you to people through your interests. if i checked out an album on amazon.com they'd show the other people who looked at it, liked it etc. its still in the beginning stages so there isn't too much going on, but i see a lot of potential!

it's been a minute since i've written something here. so it's only natural for me to write some nonsense to give your fix. i hate to be an enabler but, i care about you so much, i hate to see you suffer.

anyway i don't have anything really going on i'm going through a transition right now. soon i'll either be back in VT for good (temporarily) or i'll be moving around here. VT looks WAY more likely because the job market is bullshit here for someone lacking "real" experience.

it's not all bad/boring news, the weather has been AMAZING i've been biking a lot. can't wait to get on some dirt jumps again and to step up my street skills.

so i had to stay until Monday for another appointment for my jaw, which turned into ANOTHER appointment. i am staying here in Stowe through Easter so i have set up a work area to get some things done and be productive.

i plan on riding any day it's nice out, been able to go twice already, since then it's been rainy and cold so i have not been up in almost a week. good news is the mountain got some snow so hopefully the trails stay in good shape and i'll be able to enjoy some good shred this weekend!

after a fun weekend with my girlfriend and her sister i am in VT.

my jaw has been messed up for over a week. so i went to my dentist today, turns out it is dislocated. i have no clue how that would have happened. the good news is that i am stayin' in Vermont until Monday.

my blog may get a bit more defined now. in regards to what i write about and post. and because i am having a bad day and have been struggling i am going to vent a bit. i have been searching for a real job (not being a cashier or waiter) for almost 10 months now. i have a degree, i have solid internships under my belt, my resume looks great, i am willing to learn and start at the ground level. for some reason that's not enough for companies.

i have recently been to 2 job fairs. both of which turned out to be complete wastes of time. the first was mainly financial companies none of which were looking for marketing specific employees (my degree is in marketing communications). the 2nd fair was today, in Providence, RI. i woke myself up at 430 this morning to be on the road early to avoid hitting traffic that would extend my 3 hour drive(ended up extending my drive home instead). i went to this job fair b/c it was at my alma mater, Johnson & Wales. i figure, ok, i will have an advantage because i am alum (you're given a sticker to label yourself) and i have a great newly re-worked resume that is SURE to stand out.

i was prepared, but they were not! not one company i spoke with was not there for marketing employers (eventhough the info i was given prior to the event said specifics about what each company was looking for) they were mainly interested in seniors (i was wrong again) and store managers for Target, JC Penney, GameStop and the rest were restaurants and resorts (still not interested in marketing)

i have had a lot of trouble finding a job. i am on my computer almost 10 hours a day searching online, updating my resume, targeting a cover letter to a job and applying. i know it's because of the economy, but SOME people are hiring. they just aren't hiring me and my job now, is to find out how to make them want to hire me!

back after a good weekend. still really tired and feeling the pain of over-consumption!

so it's back on the grind. trying to apply and send some e-mails today in front of the TV. the new Kanye West and 88-Keys song is on "Stay-up! Viagra" not sure how i feel about it yet. the video is kinda funny.

that's the thing about a lot of Kanye stuff i hear, takes me a couple times to like it or hate it.

aaanyway i'll be bloggin later and more, this post was pretty lame, but that's how i feel today
